Chumba Casino Alternatives
Five sweepstakes casinos like Chumba, with honest fit notes, why players are looking elsewhere, and which states have no compliant alternative at all.
Key takeaways
- Chumba's operator, VGW, settled with New York for $8 million in September 2026 and is being sued by the Florida and Kentucky attorneys general. Its sister site LuckyLand Slots closed in September 2026.
- The closest alternatives on documented rules are Modo.us, Zula Casino, Sportzino, High 5 Casino and Pulsz.
- Every minimum we could confirm among them (Modo, Zula, Sportzino, High 5) is at or below Chumba's last published 100 SC minimum.
- If Chumba stopped Sweeps Coin play in your state because of a ban, there is no compliant alternative there. The ranked operators exclude or limit the same ban states.
The short answer: the closest alternatives to Chumba Casino, judged on their published rules, are Modo.us, Zula Casino, Sportzino, High 5 Casino and Pulsz. The important caveat comes first, though. If Chumba stopped Sweeps Coin play where you live because your state banned the model, none of these will be available to you either.
Why players are looking for Chumba alternatives
Chumba has operated since 2012, according to the New York Attorney General, and is the brand many players started with. Since 2025 its operator, VGW, has faced a run of state actions:
- New York settlement. On September 9, 2026, the New York Attorney General announced an $8 million settlement with VGW, covering disgorgement, restitution, penalties and costs, without an admission of wrongdoing. The AG said VGW “falsely claimed” Sweeps Coins were free.
- Florida lawsuit. On August 19, 2026, Florida’s Attorney General sued VGW over Chumba, LuckyLand Slots, LuckyLand Casino and Global Poker, and also named payment processors.
- Kentucky lawsuit. Kentucky’s Attorney General sued VGW on June 17, 2026, according to Louisville Public Media.
- State exits. VGW left New York in 2025 and ended sweeps play in West Virginia in November 2025, per press reports. Chumba’s terms (v22.0, December 2025) list 14 states without Sweeps Coin play.
- LuckyLand Slots closed. VGW’s sister site stopped coin sales on August 3, 2026, ended play on August 24 and closed its final redemption window on September 14, 2026, according to Gambling Insider.
Chumba’s current Sweeps Rules were also not readable to us. The last version we could confirm (v9.1, March 2024) set a 100 SC minimum redemption.

Data from each operator's official terms and regulatory filings, and labelled offer reports. Oldest check here: October 4, 2026. Offers and availability change often, so confirm on the operator's site before you sign up.
The order follows our ranking methodology, which weighs rules transparency, free-entry clarity, minimums, restricted-state accuracy, enforcement history and eligibility. Welcome offers play no part in it. The offer shown for each brand carries its verification level as of October 4, 2026: Zula’s, Sportzino’s and High 5’s were shown on the operator’s own site (High 5’s is a $9.99 purchase package), while Modo’s and Pulsz’s are reported by Covers and Sportsbook Review and not yet confirmed on the operator’s own site. For comparison, Chumba’s 2,000,000 GC + 2 SC sign-up offer is reported by Sportsbook Review and VegasInsider, also not yet confirmed on Chumba’s own site.
Fit notes: how each compares with Chumba
Modo.us
A US-based sweepstakes casino with unusually detailed public rules, including a low 20 SC gift-card minimum.
Why it ranks here
The closest match for players who want clear, current rules. Modo's gift-card minimum (20 SC) and cash minimum (50 SC) are both below Chumba's last published 100 SC. Expect stricter identity checks, including a biometric face scan, and up to 30 days for redemptions.
Welcome offer
Sign-up bonus: 20,000 GC + 1 SC, no purchase neededFirst purchase reported as $0.99 for 17,500 GC + 5 SC + 550 VIP points. Sweeps Coins need 1x playthrough. Reported by Covers and Sportsbook Review, not yet confirmed on Modo.us' own site (checked October 4, 2026). Eligibility rules and terms apply. Not available in: AZ, CA, CT, DE, ID, IN, LA, ME, MI, MT, NV, NJ, NY, OK, TN, WA, WV. 21+.
Zula Casino
A Blazesoft-group sweepstakes casino with official rules that spell out free entry, minimums and win caps.
Why it ranks here
Best if you relied on Chumba's mail-in route: Zula's rules pay 5 SC per request. Its 50 SC minimum is half Chumba's last published figure, and it allows players from 18 (or the age of majority). Coins expire 60 days after your last login.
Welcome offer
Sign-up bonus: up to 120,000 GC + 10 SC, no purchase neededPaid out in steps: sign-up, phone and email verification, marketing consents and social-account links. 18+. Sweeps Coins need 1x playthrough before they can be redeemed. First-purchase deals vary by source, so we do not list one. Confirmed on Zula Casino's site October 4, 2026. Eligibility rules and terms apply. Official terms. Not available in: CA, CT, DE, ID, IL, IN, LA, ME, MI, MT, NV, NJ, NY, TN, WA. 18+.
Sportzino
A sweepstakes casino that also runs free-to-play sports predictions, from the same group as Zula.
Why it ranks here
Zula's sister site, with the same 5 SC mail-in entry and 50 SC minimum, plus free-to-play sports predictions. Not an option in Georgia, which Chumba does not exclude.
Welcome offer
Sign-up bonus: up to 170,000 GC + 7 SC, no purchase neededRegistering gives 20,000 GC + 1 SC; the rest unlocks through verification steps (per Sportzino's promotions page). Sportzino's homepage banner showed 150,000 GC + 6 SC on the same day, so the amount you see may differ. Confirmed on Sportzino's site October 4, 2026. Eligibility rules and terms apply. Official terms. Not available in: CA, CT, DE, GA, ID, IL, IN, LA, ME, MI, MT, NV, NJ, NY, TN, WA.
High 5 Casino
A sweepstakes casino from long-running slot developer High 5 Games, with many in-house titles.
Why it ranks here
The nearest like-for-like on redemption: High 5's 100 SC cash minimum matches Chumba's last published figure, with a lower 50 SC threshold for non-cash prizes. It excludes 21 states, more than Chumba, so check your state first.
Welcome offer
Welcome deal: 200 spins on Billionaire's Bank for $9.99 (purchase)This is a paid package shown on High 5's own sign-up bonus page. Comparison sites also report a free sign-up bonus of 400 GC + 3 SC + 300 Diamonds, which High 5's page does not state. 21+. Confirmed on High 5 Casino's site October 4, 2026. Eligibility rules and terms apply. Official terms. Not available in: AZ, CA, CT, DE, ID, IN, IA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MT, NV, NJ, NY, PA, RI, TN, WA, WV. 21+.
Pulsz
An established sweepstakes casino whose Terms of Use list its restricted and promo-limited states.
Why it ranks here
An established brand whose public Terms of Use (v5.2, September 1, 2026) list restricted and promotion-limited states. Its sweepstakes rules sit behind a login, so we cannot compare its minimums or free entry with Chumba's.
Welcome offer
Sign-up bonus: 5,000 GC + 2.3 SC, no purchase neededPulsz's own homepage confirms the 5,000 GC; the SC amount is reported by comparison sites. First purchase reported as $49.99 for 1,000,000 GC + 75 SC. 21+. Reported by Covers and Sportsbook Review, not yet confirmed on Pulsz's own site (checked October 4, 2026). Eligibility rules and terms apply. Official terms. Not available in: AL, AZ, CA, CT, ID, LA, MD, MI, MT, NV, NY, TN, WA, WV. 21+.
Not on this list: Global Poker, which is run by VGW and covered by the same New York settlement and Florida suit, and Stake.us, which Florida also sued in August 2026 and whose rules we could not read. Our ranked list explains these exclusions.

All figures come from each operator’s official documents, checked October 4, 2026. A longer restricted list narrows where you can play, but it can also reflect an operator tracking state actions closely.
The state caveat: where no alternative exists
As of October 4, 2026, according to our state legal tracker, sweepstakes casinos are banned by statute in California, Connecticut, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, New York and Tennessee. Oklahoma’s ban starts November 1, 2026. Nevada, Washington, Michigan and Idaho are excluded by every operator whose list we could read.
If you are in one of these states and Chumba no longer offers Sweeps Coins to you, there is no compliant sweepstakes alternative. Modo, Zula, Sportzino and High 5 exclude every statutory-ban state listed above. Two partial exceptions should not be treated as openings. Pulsz’s Terms of Use describe New Jersey, Indiana, Maine and Oklahoma as states where “certain promotions” are limited rather than fully restricted; Gambling Insider reported in September 2026 that Pulsz moved Maine to Gold-Coin-only play (a secondary report). And Zula, Sportzino and High 5 have not yet added Oklahoma ahead of its ban date. A site that accepts Sweeps Coin play from a ban state is not a safe alternative.
Check your state on our sweepstakes legal tracker, which lists each law, its effective date and its source.
What to check before you switch
- Your Sweeps Coin balance at Chumba. Redeem what you can under Chumba’s current rules before moving on. LuckyLand’s closure showed the pattern: purchases stop first, then play, then a final redemption window.
- The new operator’s restricted list, read from its official rules.
- Minimum redemption and playthrough, which differ more than headline bonuses do.
- Free entry, if you mostly played without buying. Zula and Sportzino pay the most per mail-in request that we have verified (5 SC).
Our side-by-side comparison of ten operators covers all of these.
