Sweepstakes Casino Bonuses & Promo Codes: How They Work (and Which Are Verified)

How sweepstakes casino bonuses work, from sign-up coins to daily logins and mail-in entry, plus the welcome offers we checked and how each is verified.

By Fact-checked by Standards Editor (position open) Published Facts verified October 4, 2026

Key takeaways

  • Sweepstakes casino bonuses come in six main forms: sign-up coins, first-purchase bonuses, daily logins, mail-in free entry, referrals and VIP or loyalty rewards.
  • Only the Sweeps Coins in a bonus can ever be redeemed. Gold Coins have no cash value.
  • As of October 4, 2026, we list welcome offers for eight brands. Zula, Sportzino and High 5 were shown on the operator's own site; the rest are reported by comparison sites, not yet confirmed on the operator's site, and are labelled that way.
  • According to the sources we checked, none of the offers we list needs a promo code except possibly Pulsz, whose codes are advertised only by affiliate sites. We do not publish codes owned by other sites.
  • Verified examples: mail-in entry pays 3 SC at Modo and High 5 and 5 SC at Zula and Sportzino; High 5 runs a 'Daily Harvest'; Zula and Sportzino rules list sign-up, phone verification, Facebook connect and referrals as free SC sources.

A sweepstakes casino bonus is a package of free coins, usually some Gold Coins for play and a smaller number of Sweeps Coins that can eventually be redeemed for prizes. The Sweeps Coins are the part that matters, and the terms attached to them decide what a bonus is really worth.

How we verify and label offers

Each welcome offer carries one of two labels. Shown on the operator’s own site means we read it on that site on the date given. Reported, not yet confirmed means two reputable comparison sites (Covers, Sportsbook Review or VegasInsider) report the same figures, but we could not read them on the operator’s site. Offers that only work through another site’s affiliate code are not published, which is why Stake.us has none, and Global Poker has none because its sources were out of date. Offers can vary by state, and this page is reviewed every seven days.

Comparison sites also report a free High 5 sign-up bonus of 400 GC + 3 SC + 300 Diamonds, which High 5’s own page does not state. Apart from Pulsz, whose codes are advertised only by affiliate sites, none of these offers needs a promo code according to the sources we checked; codes advertised elsewhere usually belong to the site publishing them, and we do not reuse them. Our Bonuses page shows Modo, Zula and Sportzino first, in our editorial ranking order; no placement is paid.

The six types of sweepstakes casino bonus

1. Sign-up coins

Free coins credited when you open an account, with no purchase. Zula’s and Sportzino’s rules list sign-up among their free Sweeps Coin sources, though the amounts are set by promotion rather than fixed in the rules; the current amounts are in the table above. Some are paid in steps: Sportzino’s promotions page credits 20,000 GC + 1 SC on registration and the rest after verification.

2. First-purchase bonus

The most heavily advertised offer: buy a Gold Coin package and receive “free” Sweeps Coins alongside it, often at a better rate than later packages. Operators frame the Sweeps Coins as a promotional gift because the model depends on never selling them directly; High 5’s rules state that Sweeps Coins cannot be purchased under any circumstances. Regulators dispute the framing. New York’s Attorney General found that players of VGW, Chumba’s operator, received roughly one coin per dollar spent (our settlement report).

3. Daily login bonus

Free coins for logging in each day. High 5 runs a “Daily Harvest” of free Sweeps Coins, per its help center; we have not verified the amount. Zula’s and Sportzino’s rules describe a daily bonus available when your balance falls below a threshold.

4. Mail-in free entry (AMOE)

The “no purchase necessary” route the sweepstakes model relies on, and the only bonus type whose amount is fixed in the official rules we read: 5 SC per request at Zula and Sportzino, 3 SC at Modo and High 5. Pulsz’s amount is not verified because its rules sit behind a login. The free Sweeps Coins guide covers each operator’s mail-in process and what the coins are realistically worth.

5. Referral bonus

Coins for inviting a friend who signs up, and sometimes buys. Zula’s and Sportzino’s rules list referrals as a free Sweeps Coin source. Facebook connect and phone verification are listed alongside them as one-off sources.

6. VIP, loyalty and rakeback

Tiered rewards based on play or purchases. We have not verified VIP terms for any of the five ranked operators, so we make no claims about tiers or rates.

How to evaluate a sweepstakes casino bonus

Count only the Sweeps Coins

Gold Coins cannot be redeemed for anything. A “1,000,000 coin” headline might hold only a few Sweeps Coins. At High 5, whose rules fix the rate, each Sweeps Coin is redeemable for $1 in prizes.

Apply the playthrough

Playthrough is how many times you must play Sweeps Coins before they become redeemable. It changes a bonus’s value sharply:

  • 10 SC at 1x needs 10 SC of play.
  • 10 SC at 2x, the example multiplier in Zula’s and Sportzino’s rules, needs 20 SC of play.
  • 10 SC at 30x, the maximum Modo’s rules allow, needs 300 SC of play.

Every spin carries a house edge, so the more you must play, the less you can expect to keep.

Check the expiry

Zula’s and Sportzino’s rules expire Sweeps Coins 60 days after your last login. A specific promotion may set its own terms, so read them alongside the main rules.

Compare against the minimum redemption

A bonus is only redeemable once your balance reaches the operator’s threshold: 20 SC for a gift card at Modo, 50 SC at Zula and Sportzino, and 100 SC for cash at High 5. A small bonus at a high-minimum site may never get there on its own.

Check identity rules, caps and your state

Every operator we reviewed requires identity checks before a prize is paid, and some rules cap prizes for Florida players. Both are covered in how Sweeps Coin redemption works. If your state is on an operator’s restricted list, no bonus applies at all, so check the state legal tracker first.

Compare redemption minimums and free-entry amounts side by side.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best sweepstakes casino bonus right now?
There is no single answer, because offers differ in form and in how firmly they are confirmed. On October 4, 2026, Zula's own site showed up to 120,000 GC + 10 SC and Sportzino's promotions page showed up to 170,000 GC + 7 SC, both with no purchase. Judge any offer by its Sweeps Coins, playthrough and minimum redemption, and by whether it is confirmed on the operator's site or only reported by comparison sites.
Do sweepstakes casinos have promo codes?
Many codes circulate, but most belong to a specific affiliate site and track to it. According to the sources we checked, none of the welcome offers we list needs a code except possibly Pulsz, whose codes are advertised only by affiliate sites. We do not publish codes owned by other sites.
Is a first-purchase bonus worth it?
Judge it by the Sweeps Coins it includes, not the Gold Coins. Then check the playthrough, the expiry and the minimum redemption. A bonus you cannot realistically play through and redeem has little practical value.
Do I need to verify my identity to use bonus coins?
To redeem them, yes. Every operator we reviewed requires identity checks before paying a prize, and Zula's rules state that coins from mail-in requests cannot be redeemed until verification is complete.
