Compare prediction markets: fees, markets and availability
Side-by-side comparison of 10 US prediction market platforms — official fees with worked costs, market categories, funding methods and state restrictions.
Key takeaways
- On a 100-contract taker order at 50¢, published fees range from $0 (Novig, pre-game) and $1.00 (IBKR ForecastEx) to $2.00 (FanDuel Predicts, Webull).
- Kalshi and Polymarket US list the widest range of categories. Novig lists sports only.
- Kalshi and Polymarket US document the most funding methods. Robinhood requires settled brokerage cash, and several rivals' methods are unverified.
- Court rulings and orders shape availability more than any fee, so check the state restrictions table before you choose.
This page puts the ten regulated prediction-market platforms we track on the same grid. Every figure comes from an official fee schedule, help page or court record unless it is marked otherwise, and every restriction is dated October 4, 2026.

Fees compared
Fees are where the platforms differ most. Exchanges such as Kalshi, Polymarket US, Crypto.com and Novig use a formula — coefficient × contracts × P × (1 − P) — that peaks at 50¢ and falls toward zero at the extremes. Broker apps usually charge a capped or flat amount per contract, or a share of the payout. The last column shows the cost of buying 100 contracts at 50¢ as a taker (an order that fills immediately), the most expensive point on the formula curve.
| Platform | Fee model (official unless noted) | 100 contracts at 50¢ |
|---|---|---|
| Kalshi | Taker 0.07 × C × P × (1 − P), rounded up; maker 0.0175 on some markets. Coefficients are widely reported; the official PDF could not be retrieved | ~$1.75 |
| Polymarket US | Taker 0.0695 × C × P × (1 − P); makers earn a 0.0125 rebate (from Oct 1, 2026) | $1.74 (maker: −$0.31) |
| Crypto.com (sports) | Taker 0.07, maker 0.0175 × C × P × (1 − P) | ~$1.75 |
| Robinhood | Commission 10% × P × (1 − P) per contract (5% with Gold), capped at $0.01 per contract, plus exchange fee up to $0.01 | Up to $2.00 |
| Webull | $0.01 exchange + $0.01 firm fee per contract, on opening and closing trades | $2.00 to open |
| Interactive Brokers (ForecastEx) | $0 commission + $0.01 exchange fee per contract | $1.00 |
| DraftKings Predictions | $0.01 per contract + a separate exchange fee (DKeX fee unverified) | $1.00 + exchange fee |
| FanDuel Predicts | 2% of potential payout; also charged on early cash-out | $2.00 |
| Novig | $0 on pre-game straight trades; live taker 0.03 × P × (1 − P); makers $0 | $0 pre-game; $0.75 live |
| Coinbase | Exchange fee + Coinbase fee, shown at checkout; no formula published | Not published |
Two things the table cannot show. First, the spread between bid and ask is a cost too, and it varies by market and minute. Second, at prices near 10¢ or 90¢ the formula fees drop sharply — Kalshi’s falls to about $0.63 per 100 contracts — while flat fees stay put. Market categories
A tick means the category appears in the platform’s documented market list. A dash means it is not listed in the sources we checked, which is not proof it is absent.
